Post “Secret”

I chose the Post “Secret” assignment because I thought it was interesting to see other people’s lifelong dreams. For mine, my biggest inspiration in life and dream is to travel to as many countries as possible and make an impact while I’m there. This can only be accomplished by having an open mind and understanding cultures for what they are and contributing by sharing mine. There is too much discrimination in this world for how unique every culture can be and every individual apart of it. Let’s change our perspectives by opening our eyes to the world and listening to what is going on all around us.

ds106C: Post”Secret”

For my last ds106 post, I chose the visual assignment, Post Secret. The task is not to write a secret at all, but to write a dream or aspiration on a post-it note– in my case, I used flower post-its– and take a picture. I had two ideas for my postsecrets, so I just decided to include both of them, as they are equally important in my heart.

Post a Secret ds106C

For this assignment I was to write my goal in life to be displayed for the world to see. Well, my dream is pretty simple: I want to make an impact. This means that wherever God places me – the town, the school, the environment I may teach in – I desire to make a positive impact on the people around me. I know, I know…it’s pretty cheesy. But honestly, its the first thing that comes to mind when I think of my hopes and dreams for the future. I posted these sticky notes at a desk in the library.

Class Blog Post #7

For this assignment, I chose to do the Post”Secret” assignment. The idea is to write on a post-it your biggest dream in life. I chose “To Change the Lives of People” because my major is Psychology and I thoroughly enjoy helping others in need, and listening to anyone who has a problem. My biggest dream is to to change at least one person’s life and help them overcome a difficult time in their life. If I can do that, I will feel like I have completed something important in my life. After I took the picture of my message on my phone, I uploaded it to flickr.

ds106 Choice Assignment C – Tomlin

Compassion by Keri Tomlin

Compassion by Keri Tomlin

I am asked a lot why I am going into teaching. There are a lot of reasons, but I think the biggest one is because no one was really there for me growing up and I felt pretty alone. My parents were in the military, so they were never home. I was generally unhappy with my life and the lack of compassion I faced everyday wore me down. I don’t want anyone to ever feel the way that I used to, so now it is my goal in life to, not only teach lessons, but teach compassion, understanding, and care.

But first I must learn it.
