This guy created a parody of a State Farm commercial. By using the idea of car insurance and remixing it to discuss relationships, thus creating Stay in Your Lane insurance, he successfully created a transformative work, because he used the idea and process of insurance in a completely unexpected and different way. A work is deemed transformative if it uses a source work (State Farm logo, and ideas from the commercial) in a completely new or different way.
In my opinion it doesn’t cross any lines but other people have expressed their issues with the video Some people feel as though he should have done the video from a woman’s point of view also and others believe that entire premises of the video is disgraceful and should not be replicated or shared.
No mention of transformative use. I can’t tell if you have a handle on that term and that you read the media education document.
